Arrow’s Value-Add Center in Phoenix, Ariz., is a state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive integration and logistic services. Our well-qualified engineering staff can build anything your customer needs ‒ whether the requirements are standard or custom. And that’s just what they did for a large end-user company that needed a converged infrastructure solution.
This company is a leading source of vehicle history information for buyers and sellers of used cars. They decided they wanted to expand two of their Arizona IT locations. So, they contacted one of Arrow’s reseller partners, an IT solutions provider, to help with their data center expansion requirements.
The company had extensive requirements, so our partner recommended a solution that consisted of several racks of servers and switches. Eventually, this equipment would need to be staged and shipped to the customer location in Chandler, Ariz.
Arrow, our partner and the company met several times and developed a detailed project plan based on a converged infrastructure solution. They collaborated using Arrow Smartsheet, an online project management collaboration tool that allows multiple parties to have instant access to schedules and documentation.
After the CI project plan was finalized, all of the required materials were ordered and delivered to the Arrow Value-Add Center where our engineers then configured the solution into 13 APC racks of 376 HP servers and 13 Cisco switches.
Upon completion, the Value-Add Center shipped the integrated equipment to the company’s location in Arizona. Specialized heavy-duty pallets were designed, allowing the CI racks to be safely delivered fully integrated per the customer’s specifications. Because the Arrow engineers pre-tested the integration, both the customer and the Arrow partner saved a significant amount of time and money.
Benefits of the Arrow Value-Add Center
- Dramatically improved final installation time since the turnkey CI solution was delivered in racks that had all been pre-loaded with proprietary information, pre-tested and pre-verified
- Saved time and money overall because both sets of equipment could be built, integrated, tested and warehoused at one facility
- Allowed shipments to be custom made for each location depending on its readiness schedule, rather than upon warehouse requirements, thereby increasing end-user flexibility
