Each year, immixGroup and Arrow host the Government IT Sales Summit in Reston, Virginia. At this popular event, nearly 1,000 sales, marketing, channel and business executives from the public sector IT community come together to network and attend information-packed sessions and government budget briefings.
This year’s sessions featured prominent government and industry IT leaders who explored the latest trends in cloud, cybersecurity, big data, enterprise mobility and IT infrastructure. Budget briefings also provided the latest market insights on defense, civilian and SLED IT sales opportunities.
Among the most popular sessions, were the ones focused around cloud. For your convenience, we have included links to the sessions YouTube:

  • The Intelligent Edge: Evolving the Cloud and the User Experience
The IT market is alive with references to “intelligent” data, security, clouds and devices. The latest addition—intelligent edge—is defined by Techopedia as “a process where data is analyzed and aggregated in a spot close to where it is captured in a network.” This session shares the essentials of intelligent edge, incentives for moving processing closer to devices and the data they collect or produce, deployment timetables and what this new strategy implies for transforming public sector networks, data centers, cloud infrastructures and enterprise security.
Panelists: Ian Doyle, executive security advisor, U.S. Federal, IBM; Ashish Parikh, vice president, IoT platforms and solutions, Arrow Electronics
  • Advancing Cloud Opportunities for Agency Transformation
A recent IDC forecast points to cloud infrastructure as the fastest growing, near-term technology category, with a compound annual growth rate exceeding 29 percent. The administration’s GFY 2018 budget cites federal cloud success stories and encourages expanded implementation. Yet cloud adoption remains uneven across the public sector. This session shows you how to engage this market potential and how suppliers and resellers can play an essential role as valuable resources to government customers seeking investment-protected cloud strategies, as well as contract management and transactional support.
Panelists: Gary Barlet, chief information officer, U.S. Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General; George Kamis, chief technology officer, Global Governments, Forcepoint; Frank Konieczny, chief technology officer, United States Air Force; Ed Simcox, deputy chief technology officer, Department of Health and Human Services
